On July 7, 1987, Crowder was born in Detroit, Michigan. At the age of three, his family relocated to the Montreal suburb of Greenfield Park, Quebec, Canada, where he would spend the remainder of his life. His mother was French Canadian.

Crowder attended Centennial Regional High School and returned to the country at the age of 18. Crowder spent two semesters at Vermont’s Burlington at Champlain College.
